Local Libraries

A Northern Beaches Library membership is free to all residents of NSW.  It gives you access to a large collection of books, movies and music as well as a wealth of digital content for leisure and study.

Joining the library is easy.

You can join the library online. Once you have entered your details, you will be given a temporary membership number.

Bring this number into your nearest library with proof of your name and current NSW address.  A staff member will complete your membership and give you a library card.

There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 16 years require consent from their parent or guardian.

You can also join at any of our branches by presenting proof of your name and current address to receive your card on the spot.

If you are under 16 years of age, you will need to bring a Consent Letter signed by a parent or guardian along with their library membership number or a copy of their identification showing their current address.
