For some units or modules in senior English you will be required to find related texts. You will need to read a variety of texts and assess them in order to find the most appropriate ones.
In Stage 6, you should consult the module rubric to ensure that the texts you are considering relate to the content and concepts within the module. Choosing a well-selected related text enables you to analyse your prescribed ( or main ) more effectively.
It is generally wise to select a related text that is of a different textual form to your prescribed text. This allows you to extend and deepen your textual analysis. For example, if your prescribed text takes the form of a poem then it is reccommended that you choose short story, film, narrative or play as your related text. In short, choose a different textual form and dazzle your readers with textual analysis of different textual forms.
